ai Transformation

We help lsp’s turn AI ambition into measurable results by providing the leadership, guidance, and hands-on execution needed to embed AI across the business
who we are
Matt Grotenstein has spent the last two decades inside localization most well-known organization: on the provider side, the platform side, and the buyer side, helping organizations turn technology into a practical commercial advantage. Through LocWorks, he engages as a fractional AI change agent for language service providers to help them transform into the language service integrators of tomorrow with strategic direction, market-ready deployment, and hands-on execution without the cost or delay of building a full internal AI function..
His experience spans platform companies, service providers, and the increasingly important space between them. where technology, workflow design, partnerships, and go-to-market strategy meet.
At Acclaro, Matt helped lead the evolution from traditional language service provider to technology-enabled integrator. He built the TMS partnership program with leading platforms, established connectivity and solutions-architecture capabilities, and helped reshape the commercial model beyond legacy per-word pricing. At Smartling, he built enterprise localization technology solutions for global brands. At Crowdin, e2f, Boston AI, and GTE Localize, he supported global brands building complex AI-enabled language solutions.
Today, LocWorks applies that operating experience to AI transformation inside the localization industry. The focus is not AI experimentation. It's identifying the highest-value use cases, connecting the right technology to the right workflows, establishing governance, and creating measurable proof that AI is improving revenue, delivery, customer experience, or operational efficiency.
Matt is also the founder and host of LocReset and co-author of The Global Impact Playbook, a framework for helping organizations mature from reactive translation spend into structured global capability.
what we do
We help language service providers design, deploy, and govern AI tools and strategies that create measurable business value.
LocWorks provides a practical path from AI ambition to operational impact. We work with leadership teams to identify high-value use cases, select and connect the right tools, redesign linguist and project workflows, and establish governance your clients and their security teams ask for.
We combine two decades in localization with SaaS, go-to-market, and hands-on AI implementation experience to help you:
Design an AI strategy. Prioritize use cases, define business outcomes, assess risk to client data and quality commitments, and build a clear roadmap across sales, marketing, delivery, and language operations.
Deploy AI-powered revenue workflows. Automate account identification, intent monitoring, prospect research, RFP and RFI response, personalized outreach, and sales enablement — while keeping human judgment where deals are won.
Scale smarter marketing. Build AI-enabled content systems, improve visibility in LLM-based search, run thought-leadership campaigns, and segment communications so buyers hear something relevant to their program, not your service list.
Modernize language operations. Integrate AI into TMS workflows, MT and LLM routing, MTPE and quality estimation, terminology and TM hygiene, vendor management, project delivery, and knowledge management — reducing manual effort while protecting consistency and quality.
Establish AI governance. Put policies, approval gates, data controls, model and vendor standards, client disclosure practices, and performance measures in place so your teams can adopt AI with confidence and your clients can sign off on it.
LocWorks helps you move beyond isolated pilots into a governed, scalable AI operating model: one built for how language services actually get sold, produced, and delivered.
““We are being asked to transition to an AI-first model while migrating web properties, and being given zero resources to do it.””
We focus on three core areas of AI transformation: connectivity, intelligent AI orchestration, and governance, and measurable outcomes.
01: Connectivity
We build the integration foundation that makes AI useful in the context of your actual business. That means connecting the systems where your teams and clients already work: TMS and CAT environments, MT and LLM providers, client CMS and repositories, PIM, DAM, support platforms, CRM, ERP, vendor management, and BI through an API-first approach, and bridging the file-and-email workflows that aren't there yet.
Result: Durable workflows, lower manual effort, faster turnaround, and language assets that compound in value the more your organization uses them.
02: AI Orchestration & Governance
We design the operating layer that determines how AI is used, when human judgment is required, and how quality, risk, and client commitments are managed. This includes selecting the right models and engines for each content type and language pair; defining data-access and training-exclusion rules; building prompt, terminology, style, and workflow standards; and creating evaluation processes — quality estimation, sampling, LQA benchmarks — that validate performance before a solution scales across accounts.
We establish human-in-the-loop controls, MTPE and approval thresholds, audit trails, linguist and vendor standards, and governance policies that your clients' security, legal, and procurement teams can sign off on. Rather than treating AI as a tool your PMs adopt individually, we help make it a managed capability with a consistent answer to the question every enterprise buyer now asks: what touched my content, and where did it go?
Result: AI-enabled processes that are secure, explainable, scalable, and defensible in client security reviews, MSA negotiations, and executive escalations.
03: Outcomes
We align AI initiatives with the business results your leadership team already cares about. That means rebuilding processes, service models, pricing, reporting, and accountability around measurable impact — not activity, licenses, or pilots.
Together, we define the right performance measures: revenue growth, gross margin per account, pipeline conversion, speed to market, on-time delivery, quality performance, client retention and expansion, cost per word or per project, linguist and PM capacity, and risk reduction. We then build the dashboards, executive and client-facing reporting, review cadence, and business-case language needed to keep AI investment connected to those outcomes — including the case you make to clients when AI changes what you charge and how you charge for it.
Result: AI becomes a driver of demonstrable business value rather than a technology expense, and leadership conversations shift from experimentation to performance — and from defending per-word erosion to pricing on outcomes.
